[/tab] [tab] [toggle title=”Strategic Sourcing Consultant”] Position Description: The Senior Strategic Sourcing Consultant – Special Assignments & Generalist works proactively at all levels to support end-to-end commodity procurement activities and value delivery, including baseline and data analysis, market research, strategy development, business planning, bid analysis, vendor and contract negotiation and implementation. Skills include a wide range of traditional and non-traditional sourcing commodities with a primary focus on IT. In addition, the Sourcing Consultant may also be tasked with non-sourcing initiatives to support the head of Strategic Sourcing across all procurement areas including but not limited to activities in the areas of Support Services and Operations Management. The Sourcing Consultant will work in partnership with business unit representatives and the Strategic Sourcing team, using a consultative procurement model focused on strategic sourcing methodology. He/she will be a key resource to the Strategic Sourcing Consulting  team in both, assisting and leading several strategic sourcing initiatives and activities. The Sourcing Consultant will be involved at the early stage of identifying requirements while driving the process of strategic sourcing throughout the company. He/she will need to build strong relationships with both the business unit and the Strategic Sourcing teams who are involved in the process. Focus areas include:
  • Demonstrating strong skills in  analysis, sourcing, implementation, financial accounting and control of assigned tasks
  • Providing analysis and support for improved business decision-making
  • Facilitating implementation of new supply relationships
  • Ensuring risk is mitigated and optimization of total delivered cost is achieved
  • Capitalizing on opportunities for savings based on consolidation of spend and increased efficiencies and economies of scale for both the company and the suppliers
  • Working with stakeholders to embed a formal, fact-based purchasing process in all company procurement activities to enable the organization to leverage purchasing power
  • Establishing company wide standards and specifications
  • Introducing continuous process improvement and cost reduction
  • Managing mid-level customer and supplier relationships during the planning and sourcing phases to ensure customer satisfaction
Skills required:
  • Strong strategic sourcing skills
  • Strong technical background and understanding of products and services in identified category, as well as industry dynamics
  • Expert knowledge of sourcing and financial accounting strategies
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, including strategic sourcing
  • Strong change management skills
  • Ability to leverage thorough understanding of business areas’ requirements to successfully operationalize the strategic sourcing process of the new procurement organization
  • Strong proven leadership skills
  • Ability to manage and facilitate teams effectively
  • Good reputation and credibility across organizations
